... and THE answer for today is

"the answer might not come..." but it did! (Thank you!) - and it's this simple - "if you feel positive, continue doing those things; if you feel negative, discontinue doing those things")

...which was heavily reinforced, I'd say, today again, by Kurt Vonnegut in "A man without a country" "Practicing an art, no matter how well or badly, is a way to make your soul grow [...]" (tip #2)
(a pretty good book... both pretty and good... )
or "I don’t think Shakespeare believed in a heaven or hell any more than I do." (tip #8) (or yet another spin on the power of now)

And the answer came, is simple, plus, can be "trained"!
(I'm at day 7 of the 21 day gratitude game)

Revelation of the day: spiritual evolution seems to me like one of those Mario Brothers (arcade?) computer games where you are offered a selection of rungs / steps / rafts (platforms!) which can be jumped upon but disappear if you stop :D

You can also try this other, more extreme, 21 day game.
